SOLUTIONS FOR A CHILD WHO SUFFERS FROM SEVERE STUTTERING

Caller: Master Lu, this little Buddhist friend suffers from severe stuttering.  What should he do?

Master Lu: Tell him, first, to learn to sing; second, tell him to speak slowly; and third, tell him to pray to Guan Yin Bodhisattva.  He should perform recitations; it is like singing. His stuttering will gradually get better after having recited the Heart Sutra for a while.

Caller: OK. Generally, what is the karma of severe stuttering?

Master Lu: If a person suffers from severe stuttering, they may have made too many inappropriate comments about others in his previous lives.

Caller: Understood.

Master Lu: However, nowadays, when people stutter, they have a self-explanation for that. They can think in their minds when they are stuttering, so they need more time to answer questions.

Caller: Thank you, Master Lu.
